In Memory of my Grandma

October 5, 1939 - October 6, 2012

Unsure of a way to commemorate a life that meant so much to me, I have decided to write a few thoughts down here. My grandma, lovingly called Mama (pronounced Maw-maw) by all of the grandkids, will be greatly missed. I spent most of my childhood playing at her house with my cousins. I have the best memories of getting in trouble for playing in the "crick," sneaking sips of her ever present sodas, and sharing her chocolate covered raisins and peanut clusters. So many sleepovers, sports talk, Walmart trips, and sweets! My grandma would have given me the shirt off her back, so I had to be very careful not to make any mindless wishes in her presence, as she would bend over backward to find a way to give me my heart's desire. The world will certainly not be the same without her presence, but I rest in the hope that we will be together once again for all eternity. Though He didn't heal her in the way that our selfish hearts would have liked, we are so thankful that she had a new body waiting for her in Heaven. Until we meet again...
