Just Cuz it's Cute

I went to put away a few toys while Daddy was giving Evelynn a bath this evening. Imagine my surprise when I turn the corner into Evelynn's room and I find my dog snuggling with a dog! Well, of course, I had to grab my camera and catch a couple shots!
Sammy stayed snuggling with the stuffed animal until Evelynn insisted that he get "off peassss." You may recognize this as the Christmas dog that my Mama gave Evelynn (minus the Christmas hat). Apparently Evelynn is not the only fan of the giant dog. I guess Sammy missed Reggie (my mom's dog) more than we realized after their departure!

Grandma's Visit

Grandma Woods came for a visit, and of course she came bearing gifts!
I love how the strap of the hat is sitting!
Evelynn had sooo much fun with Grandma, especially dressing her in Easter hats!
Oh yeah, and Reggie (Grandma's dog) also needed to wear a hat!
And we can't forget the horsey rides! Grandmas are always good for some good old fashioned fun. It's funny how there are some things that just don't change. How long do you think we have been playing these same silly games with young children?

Fun with Friends

Evelynn and Caleb have started interacting a little more lately. It has been fun watching them cause each other to laugh, instead of just co-exist.
One of their favorite activities is playing with the pretend food. Evelynn likes to make Caleb "eat" different things.
Evelynn also had her friend Michael over for an overnight playdate! They began to feel the need to hold each other's hands wherever they went. We're not worried though, as soon as they realize that they each have koodies this will all come to an abrupt end.
I think Evelynn had a lot of fun playing with someone who could walk around. Michael and Evelynn are spaced apart the same distance that Evelynn and Caleb are spaced (7 months difference)....so it was exciting to see how great playmates she will one day be with Caleb.

Spring is Back!

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! Notice we all wore our green today...and we are eating green pancakes, green eggs, and some bacon (couldn't figure out how to make that green) for supper. What can I say...I'm festive!
Anyway, the real reason I blogged is because we headed outside today for some much needed sunshine!!
Evelynn is sporting her hat!

Doesn't Evelynn look pensive in the above picture?

Here are Mutt and Jeff in action. Technically, they aren't in action...I had to stop the swings so they would look at me. Then they weren't as happy  because they weren't swinging...it was a catch twenty-two.

So, I had to include the above picture to prove that they actually enjoyed being outside.

Daddy Grabbed the Camera

After Evelynn's bath, Daddy had to grab the camera and catch a few shots of her...
playing in the dog kennel! Well, what did you expect?
The above picture CRACKS ME UP!
Blackmail for later...

Fun Friday Films!

I don't ordinarily post such long videos on the blog, because, let's face it, most people don't want to see my kid for quite that long! However, I had to post the videos I took today! Feel free to push stop once you've had enough!
Here's my little munchkin walking around in my shoes.

And here we are playing some classic peek-a-boo, the only difference is that Evelynn is inside the kitchen cabinet!

Update!

Dr. Marcy just called and Evelynn's test results are back...drum roll please...
Evelynn is perfectly normal!
We can take her off her current vitamin (that had the iron supplement) and just make sure we feed her lots of nutritious, iron rich, foods!
Apparently she just has runny blood, and I am an oversensitive mom. Eh, what's new?

18 month Doctor Appointment

Hey family and friends!
So many of you  ask about Evelynn's doctor's appointments, wanting to know the stats, so I decided to brief everyone at once:
Height: 32 inches (55th percentile)
Weight: 22 lb. 4oz. (20th percentile)
I used an online calculator to figure out the percentiles, so it may not be completely accurate, but it is pretty close.
She checked out perfectly, and we are awaiting her hematocrit blood test result to find out if she is anemic. To be honest, I am a little worried...her blood seemed to pour out of her little finger. The doctor assured me that she is probably fine, and its nothing a little supplement won't fix. We should find out the results super quick, so I will keep you posted!

Little Momma

Here is my lil' momma! We found a basket in our garage sale pile that Evelynn is now using as a baby carrier.
She gets Hannah all nestled up inside the basket with blankets, puts it on her arm, and proceeds to take her around the house saying, "bye bye, bye bye" and waving to those in her path.
Evelynn also loves to tell everyone that Hannah is sleeping and to be quiet by blowing on her finger.
This is a better picture of her telling all of us that Hannah is taking a nap.
