Best Friends

Best friends forever, or at least I hope so!
Evelynn loves Caleb, and gives him hugs and kisses every chance she gets. Of course, sometimes she does get frustrated with sharing, and doesn't understand why Caleb doesn't "up" when she tells him to, but all in all, I think she really enjoys the days she spends with him. I find her sitting in his lap often, patting his back, and fixing him lots of things to eat (though I do have to watch her trying to feed him with the play kitchen utensils!). It's hard to imagine that I have had that almost 10 month old boy since he was just 6 weeks old...time flies!

Tragic Alligator Accident

There was a tragic accident in our home this morning...an accident involving a wooden victim and a furry alleged murderer.
I always knew there would come a day where one of Evelynn's toys would fall victim to Sam's desire for attention...I was just sad to see it happen to such a nice gift! I decided as part of his punishment, he had to take these pictures!
Oh by the way, I am not exactly sure how everything went down, I just know that I heard repeated "uh oh"s coming from the living room while I was feeding Caleb in the highchair...and then there was only evidence!

"Bump!"

Hope you enjoy the footage of our little tyke jumping!
I love how she really thinks she is going somewhere with all that effort.

Snow Day...or should I say Ice Day?

As many of you already know, the city took quite a hit of freezing rain...and like this city always does, everything pretty much closed down. However, why let a good icy day go to waste? We headed outside for a little winter weather fun!
Evelynn didn't know quite what to think of her swing set being frosty...she kept saying, "woah!" and "brrrr."
Sam in action! He loves kicking up the icy pellets when he runs.
This photo above cracks me up! Evelynn is chasing Sam, and you can see Sammy in the upper righthand corner getting ready to lap her...again!
"Cheese!"
By the way, I know the coat is too big for Evelynn...no need to comment. It is one of those double-layer coats, so it is the warmest one we have. One of the moms in the neighborhood was nice enough to hand it down to Evelynn when her kiddo was through! Thank goodness for hand-me-downs! However, isn't that the cutest hat and glove combo? My cousin Mark gave that to Evelynn last Christmas...still getting good use! What an investment!

Sambo Rambo

Sam the Man - sporting his Valentine festivities!
Yah, I know he looks girlie...but I really don't care!

Thanks Grandma!

When Grandma came for a visit with Aunt Carrie, she brought some new clothes for Evelynn! Doesn't she look darling?
Evelynn has been changing so quickly! It feels like she learns something new every single day...and I have been saying that for sixteen months!
Lately her vocabulary has been blossoming, and her fine motor skills are starting to really kick in. She runs more than she walks now, and is becoming a pro at eating cereal with milk, applesauce, and yogurt all by herself!
She is also becoming a very good mimic! She loves to play "mommy" to her baby Hannah, cook us all sorts of yummy play food, and she "elp"s - (helps) - Mommy at whatever task she can. I feel like I laugh and smile all day long...what a great job! Now, if only I could figure out a way to get paid for it!

I blow on my food now!

Let me make this clear, the food we give Evelynn is luke-warm at best, but she still finds it necessary to blow on her food like Mommy and Daddy. We think this is adorable...and if you want to see more footage of the blowing cuteness, click on the album to see a couple more videos!

Love my Aunt Carrie

"I'm so excited! Aunt Carrie bought me these really cool colors and this is my first ever coloring book picture, just for her!"
"I love you Aunt Carrie! Good luck on your internship! Come back and visit me some weekend!"

Kitchen Fun

Evelynn loves to feed her Cabbage Patch doll, Hannah!
She is going to be such a good Mommy someday!
She also likes to "cook" - just like her Mommy!

Lovin' the Farm!

Evelynn LOVES to make animal sounds - so the Little People Farm is the BEST!
She plays with it every single day!
She has also found some different uses for it, such as a reading chair!
Kids can be so creative!

Eye Infection

Evelynn came home from Christmas with a pretty mean eye infection!
No worries though, a little antibiotic cleared it right up!
