"Hinley"

I can honestly say that Finley, aka "Hinley" is Evelynn's very best friend. When I stopped watching Caleb a couple times a week, Fin quickly became Evelynn's most favorite person. It helps that he lives right next door!
Today, Finley came over while his mommy went to a doctor's appointment and hung out with us. Evelynn was on top of the world! I had to snap a couple of pictures of them while they were sitting still (a rare occurence) up on Evelynn's bed.
Now you may be asking yourself, exactly how do you know that Evelynn likes Finley so much. For this I have an easy answer...she talks about him ALL of the time! She asks if we can go to "Hin house" (which of course I always think of the grocery store Hen House!), we pray for him nightly upon request, we even pray for "Hinley doggies" a lot of times! Also, every time we go somewhere, she wants Finley to come with us, and the list goes on.

The Results Are In!

It looks like an overwhelming desire to see her name spelled with a "y" and we are actually going with the crowd on this one! So sorry to those of you who hate the name...all I can say is, you'll get used to it. Apparently most of the people in my family hated the name Kira when my parents named me, but no one complains today!

Smarter Everyday!

Now when I get the camera out, Evelynn immediately says "cheese!" which makes for some really corny pictures!

I love how easily distracted Evelynn is at this age. She had to show me that a "big truck" (sounds more like "big cruck") was outside.

Evelynn is such a mommy, she even babies her stuffed animals!

My mom has generously given me a glider to borrow with the next baby. Since the baby's room isn't ready yet, we are just storying the glider and ottomon temporarily in the living room. Evelynn LOVES "the rocking chair" and asks to be rocked in it all of the time. She also loves to monkey around on the ottomon...which I admit, scares Mommy a little!

Here is Evelynn showing everyone some of her counting skills (she can usually count to five when asked) and her ABCs (which haven't improved much at all!). She is also starting to really get her colors, which is a relief for her parents who thought she might be color blind after calling everything "blue" for nearly six months! Evelynn is talking more and more everyday, and it is absolutely amazing to see how truly smart she is. We could not be prouder parents of our little girl!

One More Day

Just wanted to remind everyone that there is only one more day to vote for the spelling of our sweet little peanut's name! Thanks for all of you who have already participated...I'll have to make more polls in the future!

A Reason to Smile

**Don't forget to vote for your favorite spelling of our baby girl's name!! ======>>>>
This is Evelynn's crazy-silly-excited face!
She does this all of the time because she knows I will laugh - who can resist?!

A Visit from Mama

Mama (pronounced Maw-maw) came into town at the beginning of the week to be there when we found out that we are having a girl!
Evelynn had so much fun with her Mama, and of course, her dog Reggie. I couldn't decide which picture I liked the most of them...so you get to see all of them!
Reggie is looking out the window, while Evelynn practices drawing her letters for Mama.
Reggie decides he wants in on the action.
I think he was rather impressed with Evelynn's skills!
Evelynn would want you to notice her sticker. She has been wearing a lot of those lately, which is a very good thing! We have been using stickers for a reward for using the potty. Evelynn has been dry for four days now, so we are super proud of her. There was quite a bit of backsliding after our back-to-back trips for a couple of weeks, but we are back on track now! Maybe I will be blessed and my second baby girl will be as easy to train as my first has been!

Last Chance!

Hurry!
Today is your last chance to guess the gender of the baby before we find out tomorrow!
Check out the link on the right side of the page and take the couple seconds to enter your guess. I know there are A LOT of you out there who check out the blog, so there should be a whole bunch more guesses than there are currently! Can't wait to see which one of you is right...and then we'll move on to figuring out baby names!

Don't Forget!

I wanted to remind everyone to take a minute (literally that was all it took me!) to fill in your guess on the poll to the right of the webpage! I find out what I am having in exactly a week - so that doesn't give you long to register your vote!
Couple Hints:
Evelynn was born 3 weeks early
She was 6 lb 7 oz and 18 3/4 "
Now, they say that just because one baby was born a little early, doesn't mean that the next one won't be overdue...but I thought this might help spur some of you onto guessing!

A Couple Weekends Out of Town

Life at the Buser house has been anything BUT normal for the last couple of weeks. After losing a best friend's father in a bicycle accident, we headed out of town to attend the services. Evelynn and I made the trip by ourselves, and it went pretty well. We did get caught in a horrible thunderstorm for an hour, but at least we made it there safely. We then returned home, only to find out that my Papa had lost his fight with cancer the very night that we had come home. So, as a family, we made the trip back to attend those services. Of course, our times at home were rather somber, so there weren't many pictures taken...but here are a few taken out at the Busers from the two different trips that were worth sharing.
Grandpa Buser cut a few zinnias for Evelynn to give to Grandma.

"Hel-woah?"

Evelynn looking rather jealous that Jake ("big doggie") had his own pool. On another occasion we did rinse the pool and filled it for her enjoyment. The water was FREEZING, but she had a great time. Sorry I can't share those pictures, but she was in the buff!

Evelynn's first time sleeping in a BIG bed! Granted the mattress was sitting on the ground, but even still...she didn't get lost in the sheets!
